Bay of Plenty - Lifestyles in the Bay
New Zealand Herald
Steffi lives with her Kiwi husband at Mount Maunganui and she calls it paradise. She was born in East Germany, immigrated to West Germany before the wall came down, and came to New Zealand with her now ex-husband in 1996.
They didn't have any visas, didn't know where to go, and couldn't speak the language.
Steffi lived in Auckland for a year until she had permanent residency, but couldn't wait to move to the Mount.
"Auckland was as busy as Germany, living in the Bay is paradise pure.

Ever get that feeling that your life isn't all you want it to be?
Motivational speaker Steffi August has just released her new book 'That's it! I'm out of here' and spoke to Eric Young about encouraging people to make a positive change to their lives.

Women Confront Their Demons
Sunlive
It's an anthology of stories that will shock, inspire and encourage. It's also a celebration of brave and inspirational women.
The book has an elongated, no nonsense title – ‘That's it! I'm OUT of Here! – Time for a Change'. It's a title that says it all.
“The book is a collection of 15 real-life stories from New Zealand women who have come through times of extreme hardship to a better life,” says Tauranga's Steffi August, who compiled the stories as well as authoring her own personal experience for the book.
Steffi, who fled East Germany when it was still under communist regime, is also a professional motivator, speaker, truck driver, furniture removalist. And now author.

Motivation 4U Is That Easy!
Small Business Tauranga
Steffi August is the managing director of a highly successful massage business here in Tauranga. However, it is only over the past seven years that she has followed her other passion into public speaking under her business and brand, Motivation4U.
Working with so many corporate companies has given Steffi a strong platform to really understand how you can become a competent and confident communicator.
“I really enjoy helping people to succeed in their day-to-day roles. My passion is people and people love my energy, motivation and honesty. They often call me the ‘German Pocket Rocket’ or the ‘German Energizer Bunny’,” says Steffi August about working with clients through her business, Motivation4U.

From Behind the Iron Curtain
The Weekend Sun
Steffi says we need to be very grateful for what we have and not angst about what we don't have. “This morning there was suffocating traffic driving over the bridge. But then you see the Mount and the sea – aahhhh! Thank you universe. I am so lucky and happy I live here. We have everything.”
She is the German ‘Energizer' – flat out and forever. Terminally bubbly and positive and full of can-do. And all this despite her roots.
Steffi emerged from behind the Iron Curtain, the oppression of the communist enclave of East Berlin, the Soviet-occupied sector of the city during the Cold War. Her early life was minimalist, structured and controlled.
